a useful resource for every level of yoga practice
I've been a subscriber for almost 4 years now, and for the most part have found every issue to have at least 2 or 3 articles very useful and interesting. Like so much of the American yoga culture, Yoga Journal the magazine has at times given too much focus to celebrities' involvement or participation in the yoga industry. Sting, Christy Turlington and Donna Karan have all been featured in one way or another. Not only are celebrities more visible, the commercialization of yoga has found its way onto the ad pages of the magazine as well. If you can flip past or ignore these inducements to buy things or seminars, the magazine offers a lot of information on topics related to a yoga practice. Spirituality, meditation, alternative medicine and psychology are also part of the mix, making Yoga Journal worth at least a year's subscription to give you a good base of knowledge with which you can build a lifetime of personal growth within your yoga.
