These vinyasa flow practices (excluding "inversions" and "meditation") are fluid and Shiva performs them alone on the gorgeous beaches of Maldives' Cocoa Island and Kerala, India. It's so serene and the flows are so calming. The cueing is done in voice-over and I found Shiva's voice and music to be soothing. These flows are more on the basic side than on the advanced side (except for the inversions), but it is not instructional yoga. However, I think that someone new to yoga can still follow along.
"Inversions" and "Meditation" are filmed indoors and Shiva performs shoulder stands in "Inversions". I have not been practicing yoga for very long and have to skip the "inversions" section for now, as it is too difficult for me.
I recommend purchasing Shiva Rea's "Yoga Shakti" because it contains 4 yoga workouts: "Basic Flow" (which is the same as "Sun Salutations" by Shiva Rea,) "Solar Flow 1" (which is the same as "Solar Flow Yoga" by Shiva Rea), "Solar Flow 2" and "Lunar Flow". It also has a yoga matrix that allows you to customize your workout and includes a 2nd disc with extras on it (extra shakti and pranams, interview with Shiva, techniques of vinyasa flow yoga, etc.). It also comes with a study guide booklet.
There's a video clip of "Lunar Flow" at Sounds True website.
I ordered this in hopes of having more Lunar Yoga practices than Shiva's Yoga Shakti DVD, but it is just a repeat of Yoga Shakti!!! You're better of buying the full Yoga Shakti DVD for another 6-bucks which includes this practice and more. I absolutely LOVE the Yoga Shakti DVD and would highly recommend that instead!
