I'm the yogini on the cover of this book doing the full cobra posture. My father, Bharat J. Gajjar, started working on this book in 1968 while he was running the Sivananda Yoga Center in Wilmington, Delaware. Yoga was a hobby that augmented and complemented his professional life as a Textile Engineer with DuPont. My father was involved with the Sivananda Yoga Center for forty years.
"Yoga for Health, Happiness and Liberation" covers the basics of all aspects of yoga and is a library item for any yoga enthusiast. While the book is about yogic philosophy and asanas (postures), it is also a unique book featuring a family practicing yoga together for a lifetime - my lifetime. You can see me in yoga postures at ages four, twenty, twenty-four, and forty.
My three favorite chapters are the chapter where my father's yoga students offer their personal experiences, the chapter written by my mother who passed away twenty years ago, and the chapter on Miracles of the Masters.
Another publication by my father is Warp Knit Fabrics Technology and I have written a novel for children called [[ASIN:1424179173 Cookie the Clown]]
