This is a lovely book for ideas and recipes for entertaining on the Sabbats. I love the Wheel of the Year cross stitch patterns. Something for every holiday. This book is a must have.
It wasn't what I was expecting, but a cute book nonetheless. There is a little history in here about the pagan holidays, how other countries celebrate them, how to work our holidays in with the mainstream without being too obvious, but no real information on why certain ingredients are used or substitutions and their meaning. Granted this could be done on your own through research, but I was kind of hoping for it to be included in the margins.
The only section I really didn't like was the Samhain...too much blood and gore and ghoulish-ness for me (Skull cookies and pinatas).
Have to say though, the cross-stitch patterns are a nice touch.
