Reader's Review: HP is Secular Fiction

None of the Harry Potter books mention: The Goddess, The Bible, Wicca, Satan, Christianity, The Devil, or Jesus Christ. HP is a work of secular fiction based on mythology. If children are old enough to read the books, they are old enough to distinguish fact from fantasy. When they read "Charlotte's Web" they don't grow up wanting to be barnyard animals. Writing silly, fantasy bashing books, is just a way to cash in on the hysteria of the soul-paranoid and make Mr. Wohlberg a fast buck.

Reader's Review: Hour of the Witch

Wow! Am I impressed with Steve Wohlberg's expose of the dangers of the Harry Potter series in Hour of the Witch. Wohlberg's book isn't just a lot of unfounded criticism; he obviously spent a great deal of time researching the subject and he knows his stuff! He actually gives a fair, honest, and balanced approach, giving credit where credit is due, while at the same time giving hard evidence and actual quotes that indicate kids are being drawn unaware into the dark realm of spiritualism and that this series is actually whetting kids' appetites for delving into real witchcraft. He also draws a connection between some of the supposedly fictional characters in Harry Potter and true historical figures, and the similarities are just too strong to be coincidental. Any responsible Bible-believing Christian parent who is concerned about the spiritual well-being of their children needs to read this book and then, and only then, decide whether the Harry Potter books are merely "innocent," "safe," "fun," "educational" reading for kids.
