The title first intrigued me, so I began this story which led me on a journey into a miniature universe of visual delight and captivating worlds. The reader is drawn in with the protagonist, who upon meeting a scientist, joins him in his experiment to recreate the Big Bang to replicate mini-universes. The reader is a voyeur along with the characters, as we moniter the progress of the civilizations on the planets. We also are involved with the scientist and his assistants and their ethical decisions about control. When observers learn to communicate with and recognize planetary beings the plot thickens and becomes even more fascinating. The reader becomes involved with the lives and fates of characters on many levels. I really couldn't put it down. I wanted to see what new technology, wisdom and ideas Matthews would create and how he would resolve the conflicts he presented. I love this author's mind! I highly recommend this book.
Does God exist? and if so, how could you prove it? Jason Matthews tackles this fascinating topic in his highly captivating first novel. In a creative and well-written style, he immediately engages the reader in an unusual experiment that is bound to make even a die-hard atheist questions his/her views. Though the novel is a fictional event, the book is filled with concepts and facts about science, physics and astronomy which are explained easily in laymans terms. The line-up of charcters are interesting and play off of each other well, providing good contrast bewteen ideas and attitudes about such a controversial subject. A great and stimulating read all around!!
