I have never written anything about any book I have ever read, but for this book I feel compelled to tell as many people that I can about this fabulous book recommended to me by a dentist friend of mine. The book is essentially a science based, fiction novel and from the manner in which the book is written, I suspect the author has more than a smattering of knowledge about his subject.
I have often heard the expression, "I could not put the book down", but I had also largely discounted the expression because I have not read such a book before. Now I really do appreciate that expression because I truly found this book hard to put down after the first twenty or so pages! He has a unique story line that is revealed at just the right pace so that you cannot wait to find out the next tidbit. You soon find out that the title of "String Music" really does not imply a musical theme but a highly scientific physics phenomena. The author uses his central figure to weave a story that is cliffhanging, subversive, cruel and yet extremely sensitive.
One immediate recognizable talent that the author has is the ability to describe scenes in such vivid detail, that one can easily feel that you are on the same trail or seeing the same Indian mound as the author. His master of verbal scene description along with his weaving this into the story line combines to make this one of the best books I have ever read! If you want a memorable and exciting reading experience,I urge you to purchase this book and begin enjoying a very good literary day!
Mr. Gebhard's book, String Music, would be one of those that would make a good movie...from the start of the read to the utter end kept me entranced, enthralled, excited and not wanting to put the book down. His blend of excellent character portrayals, suspense, intrigue, the edge of supernatural power, and element of surprise kept me on the edge of my seat, not wanting to put the book down. The author was able to tap all of my emotions, creating a roller coaster effect of different moods ie.. excitement, anger and happiness. I would recommend this book for anyone wanting to delve out of the ordinary and take a bit of a different ride.
