This is probably the first deck of Tarot cards I own that actually "feels right." Many of the tarot decks out there are decidedly male and the energy of them can feel very aggressive. But not so with the Goddess Tarot. With the mind centered and concentrating on the question, it will answer with such accuracy that it's almost scary. There are times when it will answer the question you will not ask, showing that it gently taps into the unconscious mind and gives what is needed, not what is desired. The four suits enlist the imagery of Isis, Freyja, Lakshmi, and Venus in a way that don't overwhelm or cause upset when the meaning of a card is revealed. For those seeking a deck that is both gentle and powerful, this is the deck for you.
I really wanted to like this deck. I appreciated the soft colors and the unusual selection of goddesses used. This was not a feminist themed deck. At least that is the impression I picked up from the deck. The cards are nice to handle with beautiful backs with a nice blue and gold piping.
The concept is great but that is not good in the Tarot universe. There must be males represented on certain cards. Namely, the Magician and the Emperor, just to name a few. What happens is an imbalance in readings. Therefore, I cannot advise one to do this professionally. The general public prefer traditional symbols within the context of a reading. This can get confusing to some.
I do like the new twist on the entire body of information. This would be great for children to use as the mythology is superb. The major trumps are like a set of flashcards. I can almost say that it should have been a majors only deck. The minor trumps add little to the expansion of knowledge.
