to understand the basic concepts of Ghost Hunting (or Ghosting as I like to call it). I found his book informative and a very quick read, I especilly enjoyed his chapter on finding your own group to "hunt" with.
I belong to a paranormal group here in Baltimore, and his book as well as Troy Tayor's book are recommended reading.
I recomend this book for any beginners out there, or if you have a teenager who wants more information about "ghosting" this would make a great gift.
I found the typos and grammer mistakes quite funny, and found the mistakes humanized the book. Nobody is perfect, I mispell words all the time! The funniest one was when Vince wrote about Digital cameras and polaroid cameras...he wrote digital film was very expensive... cute one Vince!
All in all this book a very informative book. Happy Ghosting everyone!
First of all, the first reviewer doesn't have that great mastery of grammar either! Second of all, the author presents a challenging subject to write about (could have been boring to write about something so technical) in a fun and easy-to-read way.
This book is from the same publishing company (the name escapes me and I don't feel like looking it up) that brought us Troy Taylor's Ghost Hunter's Guidebook. Every ghost hunting book (including one reviewed by the previous reviewer in another review) since 2001 is essentially a rip-off of Taylor's.
I've been doing ghost research in Michigan for about 15 years now and I can assure anyone that a lot of the info in this book is new and refreshing. Some of the experiments and concepts have NEVER BEEN DONE LIKE THIS BEFORE to the best of my knowledge. The section on EVP really brought something new to the subject with the ASQ technique. Every book until now has shown the wrong way to use a Trifield meter. Wilson is the first to show the right way. There are very detailed descriptions on every kind of ghost hunting apparatus that I could not find anywhere on the internet. I also learned how to build my own "cold spot" detector.
The humor is a bit dry at times but this not a comedy after all. The humor is necessary! It really helped this book move along.
I love Ghostbusters. The last chapter on Ghostbuster technology (yes, from the movie) was fun.
BUY THIS BOOK! If you are a serious ghost hunter - BUY THIS BOOK!
