THIS BOOK WILL TAKE YOU INTO THE REALM OF FAIRIES BUT, WATCH OUT YOU DON'T WANT TO BE WONDERING TO MUCH, IT YOU WANT TO GET IN TOUCH WITH THIS MAGICAL BEINGS YOU MUST DO IT WITH LOVE AND RESPECT.
I have had this book for some time and I find that I take it down often when I am researching anything to do with fairies. I find the information very accurate, and I have yet to try to look up something that isn't there. My grandchildren also like me to tell them about the various fairies, and look at all the wonderful pictures. I note that the previous review accuses Ms Franklin of turning Celtic goddesses into fairies, but I think she might find that it was, in fact, the Irish and the Scots who did this. The process of this is well explained in the book, and tells how when the places became Christianised, belief in the old gods remained, but the figures dwindled in the popular imagination to fairies. Aine is a good example, but there are many more.
