This is a great book! I thoroughly enjoyed reading it- finding it difficult to put down. I was impressed with how it dealt with political and cultural issues which began in the past and are still so relevant today, and was very intrigued with many of the behind-the-scenes insights given. I learned many things from this book about various aspects of the cultures of both England and Pakistan, which one doesn't normally learn about in school. I also related well to the main character's trials and tribulations while on his sacred path. There is a kind of spiritual magic that weaves itself throughout the book which has the power to inspire and awaken! Looking forward to reading more from this author.
A friend of a friend of the author told me to read this book. It seems to be unknown outside of word-of-mouth circles at the moment, probably because it is brand new. Without a doubt, this will change very soon.
This is one of those rare books, that if you only read one book in a year, maybe, then this should be it.
My friend found it hard to describe or explain the book - she said: "You just have to read it - trust me."
Having read it one evening virtually without putting it down, I find myself in the same situation.
It is a book about many things and much of it is extremely relevant and topical right now. To begin to describe it, or to try to put this book into a category, would immediately do it a huge injustice. It is true to say that it is fun to read, highly intelligent, very informative, well-written, eye-opening, funny and serious. Some groups will find it controversial, some will burn it because it is very challenging. Most will find it very uplifting and time well-spent. I certainly did.
I recommend this book very highly.
