For a book on the topic of spirituality this is very down to earth and easy to read. No sales pitches, and no agenda toward a particular path. The author manages to convey, in plain english, the special moments that (I suppose) each of us has experienced which bridge the ordinary and extraordinary sides of life.
The reading led me to remember sacred moments in my childhood and adult life that I had sublimated, forgot, or pushed aside, and discredited. As a result, the writing has strengthened my path and pulled my vision above the mundane experience of daily life.
Yes, I still lead the same dull life, but lightning does strike in each of our lives and it can inspire us if we are prepared to recognize and value it. It's a simple message, and when I read the many specific examples in this book it was hard to deny that I also have a higher purpose. For $23, that's a bargain.
I enjoyed the book a great deal. It gave one a lot of new things to think about. I found it a little slow in the beginning but shortly I found I could not put it down. I am telling my friends about it.
