This marvelous little book asks the reader to examine one's thoughts; to think about the act of thinking; to practice using one's mind in a special way; to focus on the obvious. The reward, says the author, will be an eventual attaining of the gift of mystical insight. I was inspired by this book. In a world where bad things are happening to good people, the idea that individual insight will help each of us not only attain our own higher state but collectively help make a better world, gives one the impetus to try. The book details how a person may go about achieving this higher state of ultimate reality and/ or mystical insight. It is an individual journey.
Included in the book are quotes and thoughts of wide range of well-known people who have pondered on consciousness and ultimate reality; on God and nirvana; on the universe and man's place therein. Their words support the central thesis of this book in a focused and interesting way and add to the book's overall readablity.
This is a novel approach to the synthesis of ideas which have been converted so as to become the author's very own and unique concept, through which the reader is introduced to the dynamics of mysticism. Mr. Karavousanos states in a very clear manner that there may not actually be such a great mystery after all. Clarification comes about through the practice and profound examination of already existing truths. The author draws his concepts from A.N. Whitehead who spoke about "the analysis of the obvious". It is by this method that insight may be achieved and mystical experiences understood. This is a work which converts what may have formerly been expressed as a conglomeration of esoterica, into an enjoyable and workable dynamic for both the professional and the lay reader.
