I am continually inspired by those people, such as the Huongs, who challenge the impossible through summoning up their own hope, courage, and determination to overcome adversity. The path to peace is an infinite journey - it is an on-going process, not an destination or ending. For as one challenge is met, another arises. As we struggle to climb the mountain, when we finally reach it's peak, we see yet another mountain to climb. Let us all become such excellent mountain climbers!

This novel touches people on a very personal level. Huong's life story, is the story of all great Americans throughout this country's history, he fled a war torn nation, created a remarkable life for himself and his family in America, and succeeded against incredible odds by purely using his ingenuity, determination, and faith. Huong's life story is a story similar to that of your great grandfather, Huong's life story is the life story of all the Americans who have strived and sacrificed to make this country great. The novel is a love story, an adventure story, a story of belief and faith in god, a story of the incredible human spirit to strive and succeed against overwhelming odds. This novel touched me on a very personal level and I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading a very well written story of life, compassion, and the human spirit.
