This is an exelent book for both those just being introduced to the Christian Kabbalah and Gnosticism and long-time practicioners. In this book Tau Malachi lays out some basic teachings and principles from the Sophian tradition of Christian Gnosticism in a very clear and easy to read way, while grounding it in peoples lives, and what might be happening today. He explores the Gnosic veiw of Jesus, Mary Magdalene as well as an explanation of evil and the second coming and spiritual afframations and creative visualisations. One will walk away from reading this book with a plethora of tecniques for advancing in the spiritual life and practice whatever their spiritual background might be.
We read after hearing Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, that the crowds were "astonished", because he spoke as one having authority, "not as their scribes". Scholarly authority is one kind, but how may I apply historical perspectives to this week at work or with my family? What I need even more than a historical frame is something I can use TODAY.
When I continue to read Tau Malachi's third work "Living Gnosis", it is just this: LIVING. With clarity and immediacy, his commentary on topics as familiar as the Ten Commandments and Beatitudes are as mystical and stunning as they are completely practical. The effects of this work catch up with me often later, long after the reading. I believe this little book is a jewel of the most accesible benefit. Perhaps "authority" in any age is just like this.
Thank you so much Tau Malachi!
