At first I was surprised that this book was only 44 pages long. But when I began reading it, I came to appreciate that this is by design, this is in fact part of the author's strategy. Each chapter is very short, and each chapter deals with the practicalities of bringing spirituality into family life. Far too many of us believe we are just too busy for spirituality, and Kramer does a good job showing us that we can indeed have spirituality as well as a successful family life. Rather than being in opposition to each other, Kramer suggests that spirituality and being a responsible parent are synergistic and mutually-reinforcing. Although the book is based on Buddhism, it deals with spirituality in a general way so that it is applicable to readers of all faiths (it covers topics such as finding time to meditate, entering a space of gratitude, etc.).
