This book was disappointing in that most chapters contained no more than a paragraph or two on a particular aspect of alignment. The sparse use of words is supplemented with sometimes-adequate line drawings and a lot white space.
Exercises are given for testing one's alignment, but with little or no explanation of how to improve the specific skills presented in each chapter.
From the book's description I expected dense technical and practical information about aligning the body for optimal power generation. Instead I found little more than the instructions on how to run sanchin that are available in any okinawan karate school.
The factual contents of the book is good. There are a lot of martial arts books out there, where I feel that the emphasis is more on ARTs than on martial, but this book is quite practical. The author sometimes deviates into the 'artistic' element, when he states that body building has an adverse effect on you strength or when he talks about the Fibonacci Ratio.
But the anatomical aspects are very educative and I learned a lot from this book, it definitely helped me to understand this kata better and perform it better. I can recommend it, but you need to read critically and selectively to phase out the 'artistic' stuff, if you are more into practical appliance of your skills.
