This is a good start if you are new to BJJ. Gene covers some of the "basics". however, if you are not real new to the art I would look eleswhere
This is the best BJJ book on the market for students in need of a practical guide to the all important essential techniques. If you are looking for the need to know techniques or are new to BJJ, this book will point you in the right direction.
Books like Renzo and Royler's Theory and Practice are fine, but they paint a false picture of what is required of students in the art of BJJ and completely lack the organization of Simco's books. Everyone who trains BJJ knows the techniques of Jiu-jitsu are not broken into belt levels and certainly not the way they are presented in that book.
Simco's book is true to the requirements for beginners to early intermediate students of BJJ.
This book is a must have.
