Circle of Fire is the first book on Wicca that completely fooled me. I opened it and expected a book aimed completely at newbies, after all that is what you would expect when you see that there are chapters dedicated to circle casting and calling the guardians of the four elemental quarters.
There is however quite a bit more to this book. It does as it says on the cover, it explores both the symbolism and practices of wiccan ritual and it does so in full.
If you have read many beginners books and now want something a bit more detailed to help you build meaningful rituals, then look no further. This book will be your best friend. Even if, like me, you are an experienced hand at creating your own rituals, it is always good to have something which goes back to basics, but which does so in a detailed down to earth manner.
Advanced techniques such as ritual timing with planetary, lunar and solar cycles as well as very interesting and effective elemental gestures are included.
The authors are well known in the UK for their workshops, open circles and Avalonia.co.uk website. Their teaching experience shows in this book as one can see that they are used to explaining and answering questions, so no stone is left unturned.
If wicca is your path, you should have this book on your shelf, you will regret it if you dont.
