Reader's Review: Total Garbage.

>>>This book reflects deep insight and years of practice by a >>serious, working Witch.
>>Not light hearted. A huge leap away from basic "Wicca 101".>>>

In relation to this which one of the poster mentioned, Wicca 101 still is not Wicca, it is at best Neo Wicca which is followed by the majority of people who are not affiliated with Traditional Gardnerian Wicca. This includes the oathbound material which largely makes up the religion of Wicca. A person needs to go through training within a coven which can trace it's history to Gardner.

Well unless you want to spend tons of money on useless Wicca books which do not, or should I say cannot print material from the religion of Wicca, many as it is oathbound. Most Wiccan authors including this one have not gone through training related to Traditional Wicca. How the hell that can write about something they know nothing about is beyond me.

All you get from Wicca, or Wiccan books is interpretations of what they believe the religion of Wicca to be, this includes the misinformation about a God and Goddess, how cute but false.

Allot of the information surrounding traditional Wicca relates to Crowley, especially the ritual stucture and so fourth. The tools themselves were borrowed from the Golden Dawn, other authors contributions also made up this religion.

It makes me laugh that they are not sue-ing these people for misinterpretation of their religion, yet they are happy as they practice tradition base Wicca, not authors opinions on it.

Anyway I give this book 0 if I could many as so far there are contridictions within several of her books so far to date, I would imagine money is motive rather than trying to teach anyone anything useful.

If you follow the instructions laid out in several rituals presented in this book you will not produce any type of magick which I would call real magick. The ritual sets the stage, gnosis is also important, as in altered states of consciousness which is caused by setting the ritual arena, candles, symbols, and what not.

Next you could use power word loud and vibrating to raise energy and alter perception, all these little details are altering consciousness and programming the subconscious to manifest a result.

If anything there should be lists of different types of gnosis, why symbolism is important, why candles and other lighting is used in ritual magick. Charging physical objects, grounding, sheilding. Also i would not include threefold as it doesn't exsist, it never has, it was a poem which was written by Lady Gwen Thompson as a respect to Porter. It was latter applied to Gardnerian Wicca for first degree initiates, after this is passed the threefold is lifted by HP and HPS.

It was basically a restiction to stop these people doing negative magick at random with no thought at all.

Threefold is an excuse for sloppy magickal practice, people dwell on the outcome of negative magick, they lust, they don't let go of it. Hence it is like a granade sitting in your hand. Poor construction or belief in threefold which makes your unconscious punish you because you believe in this myth.

When it becomes an unconscious habbit you are almost expecting to be punish by threefold, so you are, just the same as people who think they are cursed often manifest it on themselves by created a link, constant habbit.

You are how you think sums it up nicely, ninety five percent of most curses are self inflicted by thought and belief. The other 5 percent or whatnot is launched at people who deserve it, or people who think they deserve it.

Incidently a link of use about this author. http://www.fortunecity.com/roswell/vanthal/608/id57.htm
