I have read only one story in this book such as "True confessions of a JDATE by Amy Klein," and instantly lost any interest to read more stories. The FACELESS story about dating sounded like "SEX and the City." I feel for DECENT MEN, who have a hope to meet someone through jdate.com According to this story, it's almost impossible. Despite of time, war and peace, cold and sun, for centuries Jewish women used to be a ones, who create of family wisdom and keep families together surviving children for future generations. UNFORTUNATELY, modern american money-driven culture gave a wrong values to the own women. I'm not proud of that women, who forgot who they are. I'M PROUD of JEWISH WOMEN, who used to make their dreams a true. Why do we have to spend a time reading about jdate addiction, when we can read about wonderful Jewish women who make our world a better place. Read "Stars of David" by Abigail Pogrebin and "Kuwait Diary" by Holly Doyne. PROUD WITH ME!
I saw the editor and three of the writers speak in San Francisco earlier this month. The panel was so interesting that I chose the book for my book group and we just met to discuss the book and it was one of the most thought provoking discussions we've had. We had 12 people at our meeting ranging in age from 27-63 and what was interesting was that each member had different favorite stories (the stories were all good, but we each related to different ones). If you are part of a book club, I enthusiastically reccomend this book for a great evening of discussion. It really stirs things up.
