Genesis is one of my very favorite books in the Bible, and Kass's coverage has given me new insight into this wonderful book. I have just preached a series on the Patriarchs and used this book extensively. It's really good and full of new ideas. I highly recommend it.

Put bluntly, this is the best book of biblical exegesis in print.
What is so unusual is that the author is not a professional biblical scholar but instead a professor of the humanities. Any
individual interested in writing a book on bible interepretation must read this volume
