Whoever wrote the Publisher's Review of this book, should have at least had some knowledge in occult subject matter. Offering up snotty little remarks such as "for those inclined to believe him," and "large assertions," is disrespectful and also undermining to the author. Unless the reviewer has any sort of background in palmistry, I cannot find him credible or competent to review such topics. Perhaps this person would be better suited to writing for one of the major newspapers, where the writers cannot help themselves by soliciting personal opinion as facts.
Having said this, the "large assertions" made in this book are based on 2 decades' worth of research and study. I have received personal readings from Vernon Mahabal, and find his information accurate, pertinent and scientific.
"Crossing Paths," unlike Mahabal's first book, is geared towards an adult audience who wish to use palmistry as a tool to gauge character. Contrary to the profane and uninformed at Reed Business Information, the lines on the hand CAN tell you if someone is a "liar, nature-lover" or even a close-minded, prejudicial hack.
In summary, "Crossing Paths" is an excellent reference material for those interested in "protecting their investments" by sussing out a potential employee, business contact, lover or any others who will enter your life.
