If you only have time to read one book about Christian revivals, then make sure you read this one. I'm glad I did.
I was inspired by this revival book!
If you want someone to spend years researching all the great revivals and bring all the stories and quotes from the revivalists together, so that you can benefit from them, then this book is for you.
All the hard work has been done for us!
When I was a teenager, I always wanted to find one book that covered all the important points of the most important Christian revivals in our history, but it was so hard to find.
Loads of books give brief overviews of various revivals, but I wanted something that was brief and indepth; normally I could only find one or the other. But in this book, I found all the depth and all the great revivals all in one book!
The author researched for years to write this book, he also visited many places where the revivals broke out. In the book, he gives firsthand information from people he met who were used in revivals, and he explains the revival from a firsthand perspective by revealing how much more he learnt about the revival when he visited the sites where some of the revivals took place.
I read Mathew Backholer's other book about missions and watched his programmes on Christian TV, which airs around the world. So I know this guy had dedicated his life to bringing truth to people.
You'll be glad you got hold of this book and you'll probably recommend it to others.
God bless.
Being the author of this book: 'Revival Fires and Awakenings, Thirty Moves of the Holy Spirit, A Call to Holiness, Prayer and Intercession for Revival' i have spared no expense ('Diligence is mans precious possession' as the Proverbs declare) in trying to write the ultimate revival book in my labour of love for the past 2 years, to glorify the all powerful God through His Son Jesus Christ of Nazareth and to challenge all those whom call upon the name of the Lord...
God declares "By those who come near Me, I must be regarded as holy; and before all the people I must be glorified" (Leviticus 10:3). Revival is not an option; revival is a MUST. God will not stand to be mocked by popular society without either sending His judgement or revival. I MUST BE GLORIFIED are His words and only in times of revival will nations turn and truly glorify the Lord. God desires is to pour our His Spirit on all flesh, he has no pleasure in the death of the wicked...
A book that is not only educational but enjoyable and challenging, a book full of historical facts and Scriptural references, one that displays the power and majesty of God through the past 400 hundred years on six continents and in 19 countries in varying cultures, from men and women of God who have surrendered their lives fully to Him and have moved in mighty power as the heavens were opened and the Spirit descended to bring about spiritual awakenings; the hills melting like wax before the presence of God, a rending of the heavens, as God comes down and meets with Chrisitans and sinners alike - changing their hearts of stone into flesh, reviving the Church and bringing glory to Jesus.

Our responsibility, holiness and the need for repentance.
Thirty accounts of revivals and Awakening from around the globe.

In conclusion, what God has done in the past He can do again, through those who are surrendered fully to the Master's will, but who will pay the price? To live holy, to die daily, to glorfy Jesus in all that think, say and do, to honour the Holy Bible as the word of God, to allow the Holy Spirit to moves as He desires and to pray and plead the covenant promises of God whilst standing in the gap on behalf of your land.
We have the same Bible as George Whitefield, the Wesley's, Jonathan Edwards, Charles Finney, Howell Harris, J.C. Lamphier, Evan Roberts, William Seymour, Duncan Campbell and Steve Hill etc. They all saw revival in their lifetime as the appropriate Scriptural means were applied as God sovereignly poured out His Spirit to glorfiy Jesus and to change mankind...
