Originally published in 1992, Wallis' new edition maintains the same themes, while updating the political, social, and personal illustrations, applications, and situations. As with his best selling, "God's Politics," Walllis defies easy classification on the political and social spectrum in "The Call to Conversion."
In a sense, his overarching theme is that of Jesus when asked to whom we should render obedience--God or the state. Wallis urges Christians to put their faith into action, but before he does so, he encourages them to ponder their personal faith, their personal relationship with God through Christ. For him, "conversion" is personal, yet it has corporate, societal, and even political implications.
