This book is a flat-out attack on the Roman Catholic Church and a How-To manual for getting Catholics to leave. The book is broken into 4 sections: talking with Catholics about (1) salvation, (2) the Mass, (3) authority, and (4) leaving.
Each chapter is has a similar format of presenting an anecdote of a fallen-away or unknowledgeable Catholic that attempts to make Catholic doctrine appear silly. Then he sets up a straw-man argument for Catholic theology. These are generally supported with quotes from the Catechism and Catholic authors. He then proceeds to knock down the weak argument by proof-texting Bible passages with sometimes vindictive and hateful language.
He assumes that the reader believes Protestant theology of salvation through "faith alone in Christ alone" and "Bible alone" as the standard of truth. He never attempts to prove these assumptions nor supports them with Bible references. He is very critical of ecumenical movements such as "Evangelicals and Catholics Together".
The book can be summed up with a quote from the beginning, "the gospel of Jesus Christ is no longer preached from Catholic pulpits, and the people, though often zealous for the practice of religion, are for the most part unsaved and without a true knowledge of God." And the end, "the Roman Catholic Church can imitate true Christianity, but only so far. Its false gospel cannot bring forth genuine spiritual life from dead sinners."
