To be clear about what I was looking for: A comprehensive book on guides containing an explanation of their purpose, their mode of communication, their nature, perhaps even historical references and experiences of others' interactions with them.

Having said that, I can tell you this was NOT the book I was looking for.

Information was far too scarce. What it did contain was a bit over-the-top, airy and at times silly or bizarre. A few good chapters were okay but the book as a whole was just below mediocre. Good coffee table book or an intro book for a mega-newbie.

For someone who is looking to learn about guides EXTENSIVELY, purchase Sanaya and Duane Roman's book Opening To Channel, even though the book is about channeling. Her information on the guides is more extensive and practical.

I just finished reading this book. I went through her meditative steps and I have made first contact with my spirit guide. His name is David. This book is great for getting to know your spirit guide and to help you find your spirituality.
