The biography of a medium should hold a little intrigue and mystery because of the very nature of the subject. This book, however, simply journalizes the path taken by Marilyn Raphel as she discovers, accepts, and develops her talents.

It is interesting, but I did not get much insight into what makes a medium. There are detailed experiences with seeing and hearing ghosts, automatic writing, intuition, trances, table tipping, and that occasional icy chill. The teachers which come to Marilyn are James, brother of Yeshua (Jesus), a Chinese woman from the 1500's, Ernest Hemingway, and Eileen Garret - a renowned 20th century psychic.

This biography is well organized and includes bibliography, index, and illustrations. There is a strong message that mortal life is simply a dot on the Mobius Strip of the journey of souls.

I am not sure what I would have preferred to make it more interesting. It is enlightening and comforting if you already are aware that mortality is not the end of life.
