As a professional mentalist and former college professor, I found the material in Practical Mindreading to be anything but practical. Nowhere in the book's description does it say that the book was written in the early 1900s. The author gushes about the "scientifically proven" phenomenae he has observed, without presenting any concrete validation. Other than as a treatise on Victorian naivetee, this poorly researched and written book is worthless.
