The book provides an easily read and effective handbook on the nunchaku. Although the video lacks a few things (Sensei Demura acts as more of a model than an instructor, letting the narrator do most of the talking), it complements the book excellently. For beginners, this is an excellent starting point. For more advanced practioners, both the book and the video lose efectivness. One thing the book lacks is a section on nunchaku vs. bo, sai, etc. This feature was implemented in Demura's book Sai: Karate Weapon of Self-Defense to great effect. I reccomend this book to anyone learning nunchaku, but beginners will be best served by it.
This book I thought was very good. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because the diagrams in it were not very clear and easy to understand.
