These excellent tapes explain and teach Lovingkindness Meditation. I have found the practice very helpful for self healing and for deepening my contemplative (meditation) practice --and I always enjoy revisiting Ms. Salzberg's lessons.
I am just beginning to learn to meditate and this is my first set of tapes. I have already listened to them over and over. Sharon Salzberg's soothing voice guides you to focus on the loving-kindness within and then send it to people around you, even difficult ones. I did not have any expectations but I already am beginning to look at myself and people differently. I have more compassion for others and know that they want the same thing as me, happiness. It helped me deal with feelings of anger and sadness. Read the small guidebook first that is enclosed and then begin the tapes so you have a better understanding of how to begin.
